Practical industry knowledge supported by specialist financial expertise
I am a specialist accountancy consultant and tax investigations expert with more than 35 years of experience rooted in the food and hospitality sector.
My journey began at the age of 14, washing dishes in a restaurant. From those early days, I progressed through different areas of the trade and later became involved as a partner in numerous restaurants, takeaways and kebab shops. This hands-on experience gave me a clear understanding of the pressures faced by hospitality businesses, including staffing, cash flow, stock control, compliance, customer service and daily operations.
Since 1991, I have combined this practical hospitality knowledge with broader commercial and financial experience. During my career, I have also worked as a stockbroker and as a recruitment consultant specialising in accounting and finance.
For the past 15 years, my professional focus has been dedicated exclusively to accounting for the food and hospitality industry. I now specialise in tax investigations, helping clients understand complex HMRC enquiries, prepare the correct information and work towards fair and practical resolutions.
What distinguishes my approach is that I do not view a hospitality business only through accounts and figures. I understand how the business operates from the inside, because I have worked in the trade myself. This enables me to provide advice that is technically sound, commercially realistic and directly relevant to the needs of restaurant and takeaway owners.

Advice shaped by life inside the hospitality trade
The food and hospitality industry presents challenges that cannot always be understood by looking at accounts alone. Restaurant and takeaway owners must manage rising costs, fluctuating demand, staffing pressures, supplier relationships, delivery platforms, tax responsibilities and customer expectations at the same time.
Because I have worked within the trade from a young age and have been involved in operating hospitality businesses, I understand these pressures from the owner's point of view. This allows me to communicate clearly, identify practical solutions and provide support that fits the realities of the business.
My objective is not only to solve immediate accounting or tax problems, but also to help clients improve their systems, reduce future risks and build more sustainable businesses.
Experience matters most when it protects and strengthens others
Stronger businesses through better financial understanding
The British curry industry has been built through hard work, family commitment and entrepreneurial courage. To protect its future, businesses must combine that traditional strength with better financial systems, stronger compliance and more informed decision-making.
I believe restaurant and takeaway owners should have access to advisers who understand both the technical requirements of accounting and taxation and the practical realities of hospitality. Through education, honest advice and specialist support, we can help businesses reduce risk, improve performance and build a stronger future for the industry.
