Connecting business experience, public service and international opportunity
I am a qualified accountant and business adviser with extensive experience across finance, entrepreneurship, international trade, public service and community leadership.
Throughout my career, I have worked with businesses, entrepreneurs and professional organisations across the United Kingdom and internationally, helping develop commercial opportunities, improve business structures and create stronger connections between markets.
My business interests extend across accounting, merchant services, technology, international consultancy, property and global business development.
Alongside my commercial work, I have remained actively involved in public and community service. I previously served as an elected Councillor for Birmingham City Council and also served as the Trade Ambassador for Birmingham.
These combined experiences have allowed me to develop a broad understanding of the challenges facing businesses, communities and entrepreneurs and the importance of building strong relationships between the public, private and voluntary sectors.

My wider commercial interests include property, international marketing and consultancy services. Through my work in Dubai, I have supported businesses and individuals who are interested in establishing businesses and exploring international opportunities.
Over the years, I have developed a wide network of professional, corporate and government-level contacts both within the United Kingdom and internationally.
I believe that strong international networks can create opportunities not only for established companies, but also for smaller businesses and entrepreneurs who want to expand into new markets.
Representing communities and contributing to Birmingham's civic life
I previously served as an elected Councillor for Birmingham City Council, representing the interests of local residents and contributing to important council decisions.
During my time as a Councillor, I served on a number of Birmingham City Council bodies, including the Licensing & Public Protection Committee, the Social Cohesion and Community Safety Overview & Scrutiny Board and the Contracts, Partnerships and Third Sector Overview & Scrutiny Board .
I also participated in licensing sub-committee work, where decisions relating to licensed venues and individuals across Birmingham were considered.
My public service experience gave me valuable insight into local government, regulation, community engagement and the important relationship between businesses, communities and public authorities.
Promoting Birmingham as a place for business and investment
I also served as Trade Ambassador for Birmingham, helping promote the city and build relationships with businesses and international networks.
The role complemented my wider experience in business development and international trade, allowing me to support stronger connections between Birmingham, businesses, investors and overseas markets.
I continue to believe that cities such as Birmingham have an important role to play in international commerce and that the strength of their diverse communities can create valuable global business connections.
Long-standing commitment to community and voluntary organisations
Alongside my professional and political work, I have been involved with numerous voluntary and community organisations over many years.
I am an Advisor and Trustee of Osmani Nogor Gorib Kollan Trust Bangladesh and Managing Director of Masterchef Promotions.
I previously established and chaired the Lozells Neighbourhood Forum and have served on a number of local organisations, advisory groups and neighbourhood boards across Birmingham.
I also served as General Secretary for the Midlands region of the UK Bangladesh Catalyst of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI) from 2020 to 2024.
Other community leadership positions have included Vice Chair of the Neighbourhood Management Board for Lozells Ward, Chair of the Community First Board in Yardley and involvement with community and ward advisory organisations.
Birmingham Boishakhi Mela & Queen's Jubilee Celebrations
In 2012, I was involved in organising the Birmingham Boishakhi Mela in conjunction with the Queen's Jubilee celebrations.
The event attracted more than 60,000 people and became one of Birmingham's major community celebrations.
Events of this scale demonstrate what can be achieved when communities, businesses, volunteers and public organisations work together with a shared purpose.
Business success should create opportunities for others
Stronger businesses, stronger communities and stronger international connections
The business environment is changing rapidly. Technology, international trade and new financial platforms are creating opportunities that were not previously available to many independent businesses.
I believe businesses can benefit greatly when they have access to professional advice, strong networks and opportunities to connect with new markets.
At the same time, business leaders have an important responsibility to support their communities and help create opportunities for the next generation.
My aim is to continue using my business experience, international relationships and community connections to encourage responsible enterprise, investment, collaboration and long-term economic opportunity.
