Building practical technology for a stronger British curry industry
My name is Muhammed Golam Kibria, and I am the Founder of BCN and Founder & CEO of GKSOFT UK.
Since beginning my journey in the British curry industry in 1999, I have dedicated my career to understanding the challenges, opportunities and future potential of one of Britain's most iconic industries. Over the past two decades, I have worked closely with restaurant owners, suppliers and hospitality professionals, gaining first-hand knowledge of the operational, financial and technological challenges businesses face every day.
I believe true innovation begins by understanding real-world problems. That belief has shaped my career and continues to drive my mission of helping the British curry industry embrace digital transformation through practical, affordable and intelligent technology.
My passion for hospitality technology began in 2007, when I launched one of my earliest online food-ordering initiatives. At a time when digital technology within the restaurant sector was still in its infancy, the market lacked the infrastructure needed to support such innovation. Although the project could not progress as originally envisioned, it became the foundation of a much greater journey.
Rather than viewing that experience as a setback, I used it as an opportunity to learn, improve and continue developing technology specifically designed for the hospitality sector.
This journey ultimately led to the creation of GKSOFT UK, where my vision has always been to develop intelligent business solutions that simplify operations, increase efficiency and help independent hospitality businesses compete successfully in an increasingly digital world.
Digital solutions designed around real business needs
A cloud-based bookkeeping and accounting platform that connects business owners directly with their accountants, improving financial transparency, reducing administrative workload and simplifying day-to-day financial management.
An intelligent cloud-based compliance platform enabling restaurants to complete, monitor and manage food safety records digitally, improving accountability while replacing traditional paper-based systems.
A smart workforce management platform currently under development, designed to help businesses manage employee attendance, working hours, scheduling and workforce reporting more accurately and efficiently.
Technology is only part of the journey
I believe the future of the British curry industry depends on stronger collaboration, greater innovation and a shared commitment to continuous improvement. This belief inspired me to establish BCN.
BCN is an independent national platform created to unite restaurant owners, chefs, suppliers, hospitality professionals and industry partners under one collaborative community. Its purpose is to strengthen communication, encourage knowledge sharing, promote innovation, celebrate excellence and support the long-term sustainability of the British curry industry.
My ambition extends far beyond developing individual software products. I want to help build an integrated digital ecosystem that connects every part of the sector—from restaurants and takeaway businesses to suppliers, accountants, technology providers and hospitality professionals.
Practical knowledge that shapes every solution
Alongside my work in technology, I remain actively involved in the catering, hospitality, wholesale, property and accommodation sectors. This practical business experience enables me to understand the everyday realities faced by business owners and ensures every solution developed by GKSOFT is built around genuine operational needs rather than theoretical concepts.
I firmly believe that successful technology should adapt to businesses—not force businesses to adapt to technology.
Leadership measured by positive impact
Community service has always been one of my core values. Living in Newport, South Wales, I actively support local initiatives and contribute my time and experience to projects that promote education, community wellbeing and social development.
I firmly believe that genuine leadership is measured not only by professional success, but also by the positive impact we create for businesses, communities and future generations.
A stronger, smarter and more sustainable future
My mission remains clear—to help modernise and digitalise the British curry industry by developing integrated technologies that improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance, reduce administrative burdens and empower hospitality businesses to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
The British curry industry was built through the vision, determination and sacrifice of generations before us. I believe it is now our responsibility to build upon that remarkable legacy by embracing innovation, strengthening collaboration and creating opportunities that will allow future generations to succeed.
Through technology, leadership and partnership, I remain committed to helping build a stronger, smarter and more sustainable future for the British curry industry.
